Authentic Persian-Inspired Nut Butters “label design”

Starting my nut and nut butter business “Agil Nuts” has been a journey fueled by passion and love. Agil (meaning “nuts” in Persian) is deeply rooted in my Persian heritage. Growing up in Tehran, I fondly remember seeing a big bowl of mixed nuts on every table, especially during family gatherings, Nowruz celebrations, and even as a healthy school snack. The variety was endless—raw, toasted, sweet, salty, sour, mixed with dried fruit, or spiced.

When I moved to Italy in 2019, I missed this integral part of my food culture. After researching market demands and sourcing local and international suppliers, I decided to start my own nut and nut butter business with a dear friend. We opened our first store in the heart of Padova, Northern Italy, and enjoyed an enriching experience. After three years of operating a brick-and-mortar shop, we decided to shift our focus exclusively online, concentrating on nut butters, which consistently ranked as our best-seller throughout all seasons.

We spent months researching the market, analyzing existing nut butter jars, and identifying gaps. We discovered that finding high-quality, pure products made from Italian ingredients was a challenge. After numerous trials and negotiations with suppliers and local labs, we finally found a solution that met our meticulous standards. We’re thrilled to announce that our first batch will be available this autumn online and in various local shops across Northern Italy.

As the art director and brand manager of Agil Nuts, I focused on rebranding and redesigning our jar labels during this product development phase. Agil Nuts is a young, colorful, and easygoing brand. I conducted extensive online research and drew inspiration from many talented designers on Pinterest and Behance. After various sketches, we arrived at a minimalistic design featuring the main colors of each product, fluid and simple. My goal was to emphasize the simplicity and purity of our products. Our nut butters contain no additives, no sugar, no salt, and no preservatives. The new design reflects this purity and our commitment to providing wholesome, natural products.
